Supporting Employees on a Fertility Journey

13 October, 12-1pm UK time in our virtual community space

You are invited to join us for a mental health conversation that needs to happen in every organisation. It’s about a struggle that 1 in 7 couples face.

“Infertility is like a veil over your life. It impacts your sense of worth and your relationships. It changes how you show up at work, effecting your confidence. When you look around and see all your friends having babies, there is no way to escape it.”

If you are going through that in the workplace, there are inevitable consequences.

How many working women and their partners are hiding this painful journey from their managers? How many are overwhelmed by the bloodwork, drug injections, ultrasounds and unpredictable appointments that seem impossible to manage alongside the demands of work?

How can employers make people feel safe to share this challenge, so that everyone going through fertility treatment can be supported? What does a great fertility policy look like?

We’ll dive into this conversation with speakers who bring deep personal and professional expertise on the subject:

Rachel Baillache, Chair of Minds@Work, was an HR Director when she started her fertility treatment. Her personal experience set her in good stead to write the company policy that would support future colleagues on this journey.

Dr. Laura David is an NHS GP and the Founder of Smart about Health. She supports and advises companies on their wellbeing strategies. Women's health and support for new parents are key topic areas in her offering.

This free event is open to all.

It's essential for any HR or wellbeing professional with a need to learn, or with good practice to share around this topic.
