What is HIVE

HIVE is a 14-week virtual peer support programme for people who want to make a positive life-change -- to sleep, eat, exercise and relax better. These are the foundations of wellbeing. We do this in a tribe; because the magic ingredient in mental wellbeing is human connection. When you have 5 people who know you, support you, and have your back, you are not alone.

Who is HIVE for?

Each 14-week HIVE cycle is open to a different cohort of people with something important in common.

Do you care for a friend or family member who cannot cope without your support, due to their illness, disability, mental health problem or addiction? Are you trying to balance all this with a job too? If so, the next HIVE is just for you.

People in your situation are often so focused on meeting another person’s needs that they have no time or emotional energy to look after their own health. You might feel isolated, like nobody around you knows or understands what you are going through.

Everyone in the HIVE understands, because it’s full of people facing the same challenges.

So if you long for time and space to focus on yourself, sign up now to begin in February 2023. The programme is fully funded by Legal & General, so it’s free for you, but places are limited. If you would like to learn more before joining, you can attend one of our upcoming Q&A sessions on the 10th of January at 7pm UK time or 11th of January 12:30pm UK time.

How HIVE works

First, you decide to make a meaningful change that will improve your wellbeing. Wellbeing relies on a lot of factors, some of which are within our control and others that aren’t. HIVE is about 4 factors that we can influence — eat, sleep, exercise and relax.

HIVE is a 14-week journey. You enter the HIVE not knowing anyone and hopefully you leave with a tribe of 5 firm friends. You’ll be on the journey with a much larger HIVE “colony”, who you will be able to get to know through our private social network.

The Carers HIVE - is it for you?

Each HIVE cycle is for a different cohort. The HIVE cycle in February - May 2023 is for people in the UK who balance a job while caring for a friend or family member who cannot cope without their support, due to their illness, disability, mental health problem or addiction.

The HIVE story so far…

HIVE is a completely novel programme, created by Minds@Work. We adopted a proven model of peer support and consulted with the UK’s foremost peer support specialists, Dr. Emma Watson and Dr. Sara Meddings, in its development.

The first HIVE beta was launched in February 2021, with the support of our Founding Sponsor, Legal & General. The first colony consisted of leaders from small and medium sized businesses, who helped us test the programme; you can read the rigorous review here. HIVE has also been produced within a large organisation, as part of their wellbeing programme.
